From the first press produced in 1855 and up until the present, the path undertaken by Velo Spa has been long, rewarding and marked with various inventions and patents. The company’s arrival on the International market and the relative development of its business have allowed Velo to grow and establish itself as a worldwide leader in oenology, as well as in other related sectors.
The three production facilities in Italy (the central headquarters), Argentina and South Africa have allowed Velo to serve its reference markets while reinforcing its brand image and Customer relations.

The company’s specialisation in the manufacture of oenological machinery has been acquired over the years, starting with the true techniques required for wine production and developing them into systems which are capable of performing the entire process of transforming grapes into juices, regular or sparkling wines, or even into various intermediate alternatives, such as sweet filtrates and concentrated and/or refined stum, offering targeted solutions for each customer. Filtration, a topic which has always been Velo’s strong point and has rendered the company the undisputed Leader on today’s Market, has now reached its maximum expression, thanks to arrival of new bypass filtration technologies for liquids and sediments. Thanks to membrane technology, millions of hectolitres of wine have been filtered while preserving the organoleptic characteristics of the product. The philosophy behind every Velo system is based on respect for the product, whether a raw material or a final product. Working closely with the Customer and understanding their needs has led Velo to extend its business into other sectors. Some examples include the Sida brand water treatment plants, wastewater management systems and the more recent biogas production installations, as well as the Fooding brand beer production systems, which have rendered Velo a recognised leader in this sector as well. Some other important reference areas which are followed by Velo’s Industrial Division include the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, chemical and food industries, with the design and manufacture of complex systems for the management of pharmaceutical liquids, food-sector oils and greases, liquors, fruit juices and chemical preparations.
